As a long-running and incredibly popular FPS game series, Call of Duty Infected mode has seen a lot of unique changes. In fact, Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 2 promise to bring back an incredibly popular mode from the shooter’s long history, with developer Infinity Ward confirming that the next season of both games will include it – so move on, Halo Zombies.
Modern Warfare 2 game mode making it to Season 2 is infectedRecently, Infinity Ward tweeted that it agreed with a fan saying that playing the multiplayer mode with friends was one of the best feelings in Call of Duty, follow up this comment with:
Confirmed: Infected is coming into Season 2.
Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 is only two weeks away so you won’t be waiting long to get the best Modern Warfare 2 guns and blast other infected players. I can think of some Modern Warfare 2 maps that would be perfect for the situation.
There have been a few different versions of Call of Duty Infected game modes over the years, but many of us look to the release in Modern Warfare 3 for inspiration. For me, the infected mode in Modern Warfare 2 needed death zones, which prevented survivors with ranged weapons from hiding in specific places and shooting the infected (who have melee weapons) before they could even reach them.
I’m sure players will find spots on select maps that Infinity Ward missed, but the mode will quickly become another nuisance for Call of Duty if players misuse the mode to destroy it. We don’t know exactly what rule the Modern Warfare 2 version of Call of Duty Infected will follow either, but as long as it feeds into the chaotic fun, I’ll be happy. Now we are just waiting for the return of the best CoD game mode: Gun game.
There is not much to get out of Official Infinity Ward statementbut Infinity Ward has been very good with updates and fixes lately, so I’m expecting more details as we get closer to launch.
