Re: Zero-Starting Life in Another World is based on a Japanese light novel series written by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shin’ichir Tsukamoto.

The plot revolves around Subaru Natsuki, a hikikomori who is unexpectedly transported to another world on his way home from the convenience store.

While this isn’t a unique premise by any means, Re:Zero quickly grew among its viewers due to its well-written characters.

We recommend the director’s cut as it has smoother animation and some added scenes. You can very well see the original version.

Ideally, the OVA, Memory Snow, should be watched between episodes 11 and 12 if you’re watching the original version or between episodes 5 and 6 of the director’s cut.

You can skip the spin-off and the special entirely, since they are not related to the plot, or watch them if you want.
